I was wondering how many of you guys participate in the Folding @ Home?
I just started and find it pretty cool. http://folding.stanford.edu/ team #157262
It is basically the worlds largest supercomputer via distributed computing, with the purpose of trying to understand how proteins fold and unfold; that way, a cure for many diseases could eventually be achieved.
It's pretty simple, there are 2 options: 1) you can download the CPU client that does the folding using your CPU CPU Client, or 2) if you have a graphics card that is a CUDA-class GPU for NVIDIA (primarily G80 and later) or R6xx or later GPU's for ATI. The GPU one is faster, and i recommend the ones with the viewer, sometimes you get ones that look trippy.
(If you have a PS3 you are probably already doing this, if your connected to the net)
