Help meh

Hey Guys, im having trouble trying to burn this f'ing disc ... Im using "CDBurnerXP" which browny uses and told me to use, and the problem is that the sound is like f'ed... It happened aswell on a cd-r, and i tried a dvd-r and the same is happening. The picture is great, but the sound is like fastish, squeeshing and impossible to understand.

The process im doing is putting the DVD-R into my comp (got a new cd driver thing which works lol..)
Placing ALL 3 files to the disc (BigStan.Avi - the actual movie, upcomming movies and the bigstan.info file)
Once there all in there i click burn, i then click leave the disc open so in the future i can add more stuff to it (another movie etc). I also tried close the disc and the same problem occurs.

I got my next door neighbour to burn taken to a disc (he uses nero) and becuase its .avi i have to use the PS3, and it worked great, sound, everything was perfect.

I think the problem is to do with "codec" because if i put the dvd in my dads comp or our laptop, windows media player and other players only get sound, and the error is to do with codec. someone told me to download the combinned comunity codec pack as before my comp wouldnt read the picture only the sound, and it fixed it.

This is always a problem cause generally what happens is when people convert a DVD into an .avi file the sound is usually placed out of synchronization due to the compression. You don't notice this when you play it on a computer because most computer programs automatically adjust it for you. The same can be said about the PS3 cause afterall they are just a glorified computer.

Now to fix the sound problem, you can either use a program to check that the sound is in synchronization or try writing to the dvd at a slower speed.

Since I can't think of any programs at the moment, here are some DVD tips.
1) Use a RW when first setting up DVD burning software, to test whether or not it will work, and if it doesn't then you reuse the same DVD, without the millions of DVD coasters you will be left with if you do it the other way.
2) CD's and DVD that have a minus sign (-) means that they are faster to write to, but you loose quality, and those with a positive sign (+) mean they take longer to write too but the quality is greater.
3) For codecs, I always download DivX because they always have the best codecs around, and generally you will find that what can't be viewed properly in windows media player will show up nicely in DivX

So .... If i have no dvd-rw's in my house What i should do is ...

The Dvd-rs i got are

DVD+R lol ? 16x 4.7GB

What exactly do i do?

Download a better codec.

Ye well ... i did what native i think said, download this program, and convert it from .Avi to .Avi just basically to convert the sound (codec is the problem..) and that failed.. It took 25 minutes to do, and after that i tried to put it on a disc (4.7GB) and it said it was to big, i was like WTF .. it was 110GB << WHAT THE FUCK lOl..

I was talking to my next door neighbour tonight cause hes into computers and shit, and he said that if you want to fix it you will have to encode it or soemthing?

wtf, how does it turn something that is 5 gig into 110GB.......that is a fail program. Uninstall it now.

i did dont you worry lOl , and it turned something from 700mb to 110GB LOL . Any ideas????

Btw guys, i may have found a soloution, its not the easiest, nor the best lOl but it may work .. im going to put the same codecs on my laptop, and plug my laptop into our tv and play it off that?
